Ujung Kulon National Park


located in the most western part of Java Island

a representative of the tropical rain forest ecosystem of one of them and the widest and the uniqueness of the Javan rhinoceros.

It is the ideal habitat for rare wildlife survival of the Javan rhinoceros (Rhinoceros sondaicus) and other rare wildlife. There are three types of ecosystems in the Park namely sea waters ecosystems, ecosystems, and terrestrial ecosystems of swamps.  The diversity of plants and animals in the Ujung Kulon National Park is best known by researchers, Netherlands and United Kingdom botanist since 1820.  Approximately 700 species of plants are protected with either type of rare and 57 of them such as; merbau (Intsia bijuga), palahlar (Dipterocarpus haseltii), Lagerstroemia (Lagerstroemia speciosa), cerlang (Pterospermum diversifolium), Albizia (Engelhardia serrata) and various types of orchids.
